MEXICO’S MIDSTREAM PANEL AT OTC 2019

(MEI 895, HOUSTON, 05/15/2019) — This report provides highlights of panelist presentations at the Mexico country session of the 2019 Offshore Technology Conference.

The session was structured in two segments: Operators and Service companies plus the midstream regulator. In the first segment, speakers from Pemex, BP, Murphy Oil and Fieldwood voiced ideas and concerns about midstream options. In the second segment, panelists were from CRE, Williams, Kiewit, Blue Marine and HWCG.

From the discussion, it became clear that while Pemex has ample spare capacity at gas processing plants onshore, the fact that no contracts have yet been written with offshore operators for the shared use of Pemex infrastructure clouds the outlook for early production for individual operators as well as the expected aggregate production for 2021 by the López Obrador administration.
