The first press briefing of the new Pemex director general was held on Feb. 7, 2007, and was of the nature of an exercise in damage control in response to the WSJ article on Cantarell decline published on Jan. 27. Thirteen months later, the director general was again called to face the press in the mode of damage control, this time in relation to the controversy surrounding its March 4, 2008, video campaign. Our update to this report analyzes and critiques the radio interview on Grupo Imagen held with the director general on March 6.
