The year began with optimism both for developers and public officials in government and in the state-owned energy companies. In LNG, for example, Chevron, Marathon and Tractebel were poised to see their projects move forward, but, at year end, only Chevron’s survived. This 43-page report, with its 11 tables and one map, reviews events and trends of 2004 with special reference to the energy sector.
