This web site is divided into three sections:
Public Section
A section in which information and analysis is offered as a public service to the general public, the press, research centers, and students and professors. Our thinking about how best to perform this service is far from complete, and we invite comments and suggestions.
In a news-release streaming format we will provide informaton on current developments.
We intend to include policy papers on the main topics of energy policy in Mexico, as well as a discussion of data problems and issues in Mexico. For example, Pemex Exploration & Production (PEP) reports standard conditions for natural gas differently from those reported by Pemex Gas & Basic Petrochemicals (PGPB). The latter's gas volumes, convered to those of the U.S. and Canada, are 5% higher.
eStore Section
A section in which data and analysis on a given are packaged and offered as a commercial product, available for purchase by credit or debit card. Most of the reports will be selected numbers from our regular reporting services. Prices will reflect the scarcity of the information and difficulty of analysis. Where there is a public or historical interest in the report or data set we will price the product so as to be comparable to buying a book on the Internet.
Subscribers Section
A section for subscribers to our subscription services, including Mexico Energy Intelligence™, our newletter and data services . The data and reports in this section are those items that have previously been sent to subscribers under a password because of their political sensitivity. Mexico is not a country where explicit questioning of authority is welcomed, especially in the energy sector; and, for this reason, any such questioning on our part is meant for our subscribers who are paying for alternative data sets and interpretations, not for the press or general public.
We will also have our library of Mexico-related Internet links, structured by country (Mexico, U.S., Canada, Other) and type (e.g., government, trade association, NGO).
This section will be password protected, and each subscriber will be given his or her own password valid for the period of the subscription. |
