  Gasification

WELCOME TO OUR DATA GALLERY FOR THE ENERGY SECTOR

Gasification is an efficient means of converting low value-residuals into higher volume products including power, steam, hydrogen, and basic chemicals. It is a process that produces mixtures of hydrogen and carbon monoxide (synthesis gas or syngas) from carbon-based feedstocks such as coal, petroleum, coke and heavy oils. Gasification uses multiple feedstocks to produce multiple products. There are over 60 commercial sites worldwide using GE gasification technologies.

In each of our data galleries we offer information, analysis and documentation in six windows:

1) FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions
2) Industry Fundamentals
3) Industry presentations
4) Policy and Law
5) Regulation and Regulators
6) Our reports.

With site registration by the visitor, documents may be downloaded at no cost except for those in the last-mentioned category, our reports, which are available by subscription or online purchase.

FAQ. Here we refer to questions asked by the general public as well as by policymakers, legislators, regulators and journalists.

Industry Fundamentals. Here, in non-technical language, we present a glimpse into the economics, financing, technology and human resources that are characteristic of a given industrial activity.

Industry Presentations. Here we post either individual presentations or links to others posted separately. The purpose is to illustrate the nature of the industrial challenges, risks and successes.

Policy and Law. In relation to the ability of a country or region to attract international investors and capture efficiencies developed in the global marketplace, the policy orientation of the government and the legal foundation of commerce matter a lot. In this sense, policy and law are competitive factors in global commerce.

Regulation and Regulators. Industrial activity is regulated in one form or another by the State. In relation to hydrocarbons, and mineral wealth in general, the typical pattern it is the State that is the owner and regulator. In Mexico, the state oil company is also the exclusive operator.

Our Reports. In many cases we have prepared commercial reports that concern, directly or indirectly, the topic of a given data gallery.
